How cool would this be?

I saw essentially the same car the other day in greensburg. I didn't find the fiero particularly fun to drive.

Well I sure loved driving it! The first Fiero was the best. That was the one Dad bought for me (on Margie's birthday!) in 1987. I thought I was pretty hot stuff when I was driving that car. I was 34 and had just lost a lot of weight.

Oh well, I still think it's a beautiful vehicle. It was certainly a car for its time.

Love you, Claudia

Did you click the link though?

It talks about a 1988 Fiero GT that I guess someone mothballed in the late eighties. It's never been titled. It has just over 200 miles on the odometer. For all intents and purposes, it is a NEW car. And it could be yours for just $35k.

an interesting prospect for sure. speaking of mothballed cars, did anybody hear about the "time capsule" car that was unearthed not too long ago? there was a contest to guess the population difference of some city from 1954 to 2004 (or something like that) and the winner got the brand new car that was enclosed in the time capsule. when the dug the car up, they found the car to be thoroughly decomposed.

the moral of the story is, just because it hasn't been titled/driven, doesn't mean you won't have to replace EVERYTHING.

the fiero's were interesting cars. i really wish they would have continued to make them adding the 200 hp quad four motor as was planned for 1989/1990 model year. i have plenty of fond memories of the car. changing the clutch on one makes me think twice about that of course.

my dream would be to put the all aluminum direct injected turbo-charged ecotec motor in there. i bet you would cut easily over 100 pounds off the back end and double the horsepower in the process.

thanks for the link rusty!!
