A little early, I know but I wanted to be the first to wish you a very happy birthday. I'm thinking about you and hoping that you have a very enjoyable day tomorrow, October 4th.
In honor of you -- a picture montage of whatever I have on my computer.

I can remember everything about twenty-eight years ago as if it were yesterday. I went in to the hospital the night before so they could do all the labwork, and have me prepped and ready for a 8:00 am surgery appointment. Of course it was impossible to sleep, so Dad had purchased the newest John D. MacDonald for me. The title was "The Green Ripper", and I finished reading it right before they wheeled me down to the operating room. I got to be awake for the surgery, and it went so smoothly. I can remember them telling me it was a girl, and Ed and I looked at each other and said, "Betsey Katharine!" We had chosen that name for Ryan before he was born in case it was a girl, and the name didn't seem right for Margie, so we saved it until Betsey was born. I got to hold her on my chest for a couple of minutes, while the doctor finished closing me up. You were so sweet and precious! After spending some hours in the recovery room, I was placed in a room with another mother. She had just delivered a little boy, Lucas, and she took pictures of me with Betsey. It was such a happy day, and it was a Thursday morning, just like today is a Thursday morning.
Happy, Happy Birthday Betsey! I love you so very much.
Claudia
