I went to see this at midnight on Thursday, with low expectations- the movie is never as good as the book right? I'll keep my opinions to myself b/c I don't know who all has seen it yet, but let me know what you think if you've seen it!
One of my homeroom students went to the midnight showing on Friday morning. I told her she'd better be in school on Friday so she could tell me how it was. When she came into class, I could hardly wait to hear all about it. I had seen that the actor who played Edward was also the actor from the fourth Harry Potter movie who was killed at the end.
Anyway, she told me she was really disappointed in the movie. She felt it didn't capture the same emotion of the book, and that it seemed more stupid when it was on the big screen. I thought that was pretty interesting, coming from a seventh grader. I haven't read the books yet, but will, at some future point; then I'll want to see the movie for myself.
Speaking of seeing movies, Dad and I saw the Quantum of Solace today, and I really liked it. Dad and I thought the firestorm in the hotel/compound at the end was kind of hokey, but otherwise, good comments all around. Thanks for blogging about this, Emily.
Did Karl go to Twilight too? It made a TON of money this weekend! I didn't read the books, but I have to give a shout out to Stephanie Myers...a BYU alumnus! Go Cougars!
