I thought this report from NPR was to good not to share. I haven't read the Washington Post article(s) yet, but thought the story was a great analysis of how VP Cheney has really altered the role of the VP in government structure.

I like the comment at the end when the reporter calls VP Cheney, the "embodiment of stay the course." that rang very true to me.

Betsey,
Ed and I heard this story on NPR, and I am really surprised that there has been no outrage expressed by his blatant attitudes. Oh, sure, there have been jokes on the Dailey Show and the Colbert Report, and I've seen the stories repeated on CNN and in the newspaper, but no one is going after him. If that had been Al Gore, eight years ago, this would be a major story.
I think Dick Cheney is one of the most sinister, power-hungry men of our times. He makes the leader of North Korea look gentle and meek.
Oh well, I better watch my words, or someone from the Justice Department will see my email, and I'll end up in prison.

That's right Rusty. You'll need to pander up to those guys, because they could be watching you right now and monitoring your emails!
