This last picture is of Abby and Danny's two boys Matthew (on the left) and Samuel (on the right). Samuel started walking a few days ago and we are so proud of him :) The Hawkins family reunion is in August when Richard returns. Richard and I are thinking of performing Total Eclipse of the Heart for the talent portion of the reunion :)

Cupcakes from Margie
When Margie was home a few months ago, she made cupcakes. We forgot to post the pictures of the cupcakes she sent to me and Richard. We loved them and were excited to get a package in the mail. Although Margie noted fragile and this side up on the package, the mail service was not so kind to the cupcakes. They arrived a little disheveled, but we loved them anyway!!

Okay, so now I'm curious. What the significance of the song, "Total Eclipse of the Heart"?
Claudia
I'm more curious about what the talents would be at our family reunion. I would dance to the Pointer Sister's "Automatic" or maybe juggle. How about the rest of you?
I think my talents speak for themselves. Check-out those cupcake pix.
I've also made paella three times this summer and each time to rave reviews. I think this might replace my shells as my go-to dish. I also think that Dad would enjoy paella as it's one big plate of mixed up food. The last batch I made had chorizo, chicken, shrimp, mussels, green beans, peas, red peppers, onions, rice, saffron and garlic. I know the mussels and shrimp probably wouldn't be a Gimbel favorite, but it makes the dish so interesting and pretty looking. I will try some varations.
Also. If you'd like to see talent, ask Brandon to dance. Elanie but better.
And Karl, what about your Journey video. That my friend is talent.
Kisses!

Margie,
I want some of your yummy Paella! Come to Indiana in July when I am there to visit :)
Total Eclipse of the Heart is just a great song to preform! Listen to it again and you will see
listen to the pointer sister's "automatic" That's where it's at. That dish sounds interesting. I like how your go-to dish changes with your region marjorie.

I like the video on YouTube as well. Although the main singer kind of looked like a man. I really want to see you preform this Karl. Would Emily join in as a back-up singer/dancer?

once upon a time there was light in my life
now theres only love in the dark
nothing i can say
total eclipse of the heart.
uh, thats just how i remember those lyrics. kinda like jon bon jovi living on a prayer. or we'll make it out square. whatever.
-ryan
I think it is "We'll make I swear...Oh Oh...living on a Prayer"
That video ROCKED! I Heart MTV
The key change after the bridge of that song is the best...pure hard rocking balladry.
I have a hairy back and Meridth can play her nose like the bagpipes. I think we could come up with an act where she plays and I dance without my shirt. Kinda a "Dancing Bear" thing.
-Rusty
alright that's gross rusty. The talent portion of our family reunion is off.

Nice to see that you've committed those lyrics to memory, Ryan.
And Rusty, B might give you a run for your money on that whole back thing. It's a senstitive subject, though so no comments from the peanut gallery.
Kisses!
