Matilda McBean Won't Clean Under Her Bed

So I'm totally charmed...

I'm in the running for a writing contest online and basically they have the most adorable kids read your story and the story that is watched the most wins millions. (i.e. $1,500). Go check it out. It's at Smories.com Do it. And yay.

ADDENDUM: Apparently you can watch it multiple times and it will increase my chances of winning the contest. It's lasting all throughout May, so click back often and tell your friends!

Relay for Life

Hello all! I (Karl) am participating in Relay for Life again this year and would love to have your (financial) support. Feel free to donate here, if possible.

For those of you who don't know what Relay for Life is, below is a description.

"The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.

Relay began in 1985 when Dr. Gordy Klatt, a colorectal surgeon in Tacoma, Washington, ran and walked around a track for 24 hours to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Since then, Relay has grown from a single man’s passion to fight cancer into the world’s largest movement to end the disease. Each year, more than 3.5 million people in 5,000 communities in the United States, along with additional communities in 20 other countries, gather to take part in this global phenomenon and raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer. Thanks to Relay participants, the American Cancer Society continues to save lives."

My Tree and Me

Saw this and thought of Chard.

"I’ve always found genealogy to be really interesting, and family trees are just a cool idea. So when I recently stumbled upon the site My Tree and Me by Vermont designer Jen O’Neill, I was thrilled to see a new, modern take on the family tree. These custom giclee prints on watercolor paper would make a great addition to a baby room or family wall, and it would encourage you to do some major digging into your family’s past!"

I'm proud of my wife.

Congratulations, Casey, on all the hard work. i love you!!!

A little Friday Fun

I saw this video on a blog a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty funny. It was produced by some kids in Provo, UT, which makes me like it even more. The final fight scene was filmed at the Christa McAuliffe Space Education Center. Richard can remember going on field trips there as a kid. Hope you all have a great Friday!

Say Cheese!

Being that I have my folks living in Australia, and the Hawkinses are moving to Hong Kong, and everybody in the Gimbel family (and the my family for that matter) seem to be living in very different locals...
we decided to put together a board book of pictures of family and friends so that Uschi could know who everybody is. And since we really only started being good picture takers of mainly Uschi, we are lacking in good current photos of yourselves. So we would love it if you all could send us a digital photo of yourselves to my (Meridth's) email address.

Thanks a million and two!

New House?

Mom wanted me to post pictures of a house we are looking at. we won't be putting a bid on it until may or june, so it might not even be available. plus, we're not even sure if we want to be into the house as much as they are asking. that being said, it is a pretty nice place and we are excited at the prospect.
