i just wanted to throw another one up there. i heard that pontiac was going to rebadge this new holden commodore as the new pontiac G8. this car is the bee's knees. i think i'm more excited about this car than the astra, but i'm not sure. i'd bet this car will be in the low 30k price range, and i'll be saving my pennies now. hot diggity dog. the is one handsome car, but what makes me more excited is the little clip they had on abc showing a glimpse of the front end of this car badged as the pontiac and it was even more impressive. link to said video can be seen here click me . way way excited. ok, thats it. i just had to tell someone. i've already showed all the guys at work. oh, on a side note. ashley has been in a cheerleading camp all week. we are very excited for her performance during the half-time of Ogden High's next basketball game. today casey and ashley went with her to practice and chloe had a blast playing around with the girls. unfortunately, ashley has finally come to the age where she is embarrased to have her parents around. she was giving casey the stink eye the whole time. teenagers, you give them an inch, they swim all over you. (name that quote). ok have fun all

one other thing,
hey dad, did you happen to read the autoweek article about the saturn aura and the toyota camry? absolutely awesome. a win for the good guys. even better was that they beat them at their own game. the camry edged out the aura just barely on some of the objective testing, but the saturn won for QUALITY as well as stability and all the other subjective testing they did. i think we've got a contender.

"I coulda been a contenda, ma!"
Name THAT quote, brotha!
And yers was from the Little Mermaid. Word.
-Rusty
The quote is from Little Mermaid. Sebastian says it to King Triton.
The Auto Show is here this week. Are all of these cars going to be there? I'm planning on going some time mid-week next week. Dad, did you go to Detroit this year?
I love you!

rusty, i can't remember where that quote came from, but i had that voice in my head as i wrote that. little mermaid and our good friend sebastian. when did that movie come out anyway? anyway, marge, they should be debuting the opel astra rebadged to a saturn astra there at the chicago auto show from what i understand. i don't think they will have the G8 there but if they do make sure you snap a few photos for me. i'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the car. i hope they tried to maintain an overall similar profile to the commodore.
hey, we should do like a weekly name that quote post. that would be fun eh?
Disney released the animiated "Little Mermaid" movie in 1989. It's based on the story written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen and was first publised in 1836. (Thank you, Wikipedia.)
And yes, I'll snap some shots for you. Last year, I actually had a press pass for the auto show and got to go when no one else was there. This year, I'll settle for free tickets during the work week from some folks here.
And I think Quote of the Day or Week would be great. What about this one, "I love being a Turtle!"
Love you!

I know that one! Marjorie Gimbel said it after rusty said, "go ahead, make my day" and then dad said, "does anyone else want to quote a movie?" You're funny Rusty.
-karl
And actually the quote did come from a movie. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Movie" ;-)
But yeah, I pulled it out after Dad was done punishing Rusty, who had said, "Make my day!" in response to some disciplinary-type request.
Dad came back to the dinner table and said, "Anyone else want to quote a movie?" To which I responded, "I love being a turtle!" Witty then. Witty now. ;-)
Kisses!

Ryan, you have to write and let us know how Ashley did with the cheerleading thing. Grandma wants more detail. AND PICTURES! Always send more pictures. You guys have to teach me how to transfer pictures on to here, OK?
Love, Mother
It's not called "transfering" pictures. It's actually referred to as "uploading"
When you post a blog, so click on the little picture icon at the top of the text box. It will ask you to upload a picture file. Do you have any electronic picture? I bet if you scanned some shots and saved them as jpgs you could easily upload them.
I love you!

Yes GM rules the auto show! both Detroit and Chicago. The G8 will be there It has a V-6 or 6.0 V8 with 364 hp and a six speed auto. There will be a 400HP/six speed man. modal later on, this will be my next car! Also the new Saturn Outlook, Astra and Veu also the new 2008 Malibu, Corvette pace car, GMC Arcatia. etc. Autoweek mag had a revieuw of the SAAB 9-3 combi They loved It.
DaD
i think/hope we've stumbled upon a new era for the general. this pontiac is a big indicator for me. we've got the solstice?sky (kicking the miata's butt) the cobalt SS (beating the civic SI + knocking on the door of many others) C6 Z06, the best bang for your buck car ever. this G8 is a very handsome car. short over hangs, torqey V-8, 4 doors, its perfect. dad, if you've got any info about this car let me know.. i am very interested. i'll buy this car if they offer it with the 400hp v-8 and 6 spd for under 30K. thanks
On a related note, anybody see Al Gore's documentary "An Inconvenient Truth?"
Thanks Ryan for killing the planet.
