this is the cool thing. chloe, has twice asked if she could have a go kart of some sort. i'm thinking the next danica patrick. well, maybe a little less attitudy. i've been shopping around for carts, but the reality is where would we practice? i guess at the school parking lot. i'm not sure how that would go over. some of the guys that autocross have kids that run through the cones. from what i gather there are classes for kids as young as 5. a cart for that age group runs around 2500.
i could pick up something a little more basic for around 300 just to see if she takes to it or is interested at all.
trust me, my gears are turning. at the very least, i think something like that would help teach basic coordination and car control techniques.
Emily has two cousins (one boy and one girl) that do a lot of racing. You'd have to ask her more about it, but they have been doing it for a long time. You should get chloe involved. that would be cool... and just put a go-cart track in your back yard. can't be anymore packed then our cousin with the four-wheeler, three-wheeler, and horse in his back yard. Didn't you guys break some of his stuff?
I was driving the three-wheeler, thumbed the accelerator, lost control and rammed into their swing-set. Not a lot of sense letting a 12-year old drive one of those damn things, if you ask me. In my defense I was rather uncoordinated in my youth...and my teenage years...and afterward.
