Yeah, well...what does Karl know about design? It's headlights are significantly too aggressive and it looks a little too...the Fast and the Frivolous...but I still dig it.
i LOVE these new cars from the general. i like the mini/commuter car segment in general. i like small cars for their nimble drive-ability and "tossable" demeanor. i think for someone like me who drives 10 to 15 miles a day max, something like this is perfect. the styling on these cars is top notch. i love wheels pushed to the corners. i like all of them. at some point they seem a bit cartoony, but not to any extreme.
i'll admit, my initial vote went with the beat as well because i really like the way the fenders hugged the wheel and muscular protrusion of the front lip. i also like the A-pillar and the side window opening. i think maybe its the green that is throwing you off.
but after spending some time looking at the groove from different angles i came to enjoy the slightly more square approach. i really dig the industrial-ness of the squared of door handles and sharp belt line angle. i dig the marker lights up front. the haunches around the fenders really give it a muscular feel. also, i'm pretty partial to that blueish grey.
the trax would probably be my last pick. not because its unattractive, but because of the bulbous headlights and tail that remind me of a tracker. it just doesn't grab me. i do like it though.
from what i've read they will come with some sort of 1.0 liter engine (4cyl? turbo?) which, depending on weight could really make these things fly. i would hope they are aiming for somewhere in the 2000 lb area, but realistically i would thing closer to 2300. who knows. i just hope they build them.

I voted for the Trax, but it said only 15% of people have voted for that one. I always vote for the loser!
Sorry big guy, I dig the Beat. The Trax was my number 2. How is the Groove winning by such a margin, it's bland.
Seriously, the Beat could be a nice commuter car...
